    On behalf of the John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship we are pleased to announce that on February 24th 2018 a check in the amount of $10,000 was donated for the second year to the Missouri Department of Conservation Discover Nature Camp for Girls in John’s name. Thanks to all friends and family who made this great event possible.

Mesh greatest passion, second to his own family and the Fire Department was being in the outdoor, he loved nature.  While growing up, John spent countless hours in the woods with has father and older brothers learning about conservation.  He had spent the past several years of his life passing along that tradition to his four daughters.

    KCFD LODD: IAFF Local 42 member and KCFD FAO Roger Rhoads has passed away from an occupational illness. Before being assigned to the Fire Academy as Lead Instructor Roger was assigned to Rescue 9, a heavy rescue company at KCFD Station 35. Please keep Roger’s family the KCFD and memberships of IAFF Local 42 and 3808 in your thoughts and prayers.
    Missouri Professional Firefighter License Plates

    At this week’s MSCFF Presidents Meeting the floor voted to proceed with the MISSOURI PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS plates. Below is a mockup of the plates and the steps for a person to obtain the Missouri Professional Firefighter plates. This applies to any applicant after the plates go into production.
    2017 FEMA FIRE ACT Grants

    The application period for the Fire Act Grants will be opening soon, this will be for the FY2107 money. I don’t have a date for when the application periods will open, but now is the time (maybe delayed due to all the natural disasters) for locals and their fire/EMS departments to start considering their request.

    It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the LODD of Fire Fighter Robert Abell, IAFF 2nd District, Local 73, Saint Louis, MO. Brother Abell, 54, passed away from brain cancer on September 24, 2017. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street, Saint Louis, MO 63109.

    Photo Credit: Northeast News On Saturday, February 25, 2017 the John V. Mesh Memorial Fund made their first donation of $10,000 to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Discover Nature Girls Camp.  The Scholarship Fund which was established in 2016 after the death of Kansas City, MO Firefighter John V. Mesh how lost his life at a fire at 2608 Independence Ave.

    The Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters will be hosting its Biennial Convention August 21-23, 2017, at the Branson Promende at the Branson Landing, Brason, Missouri.  The Convention Call will be published soon.  The MSCFF has a block of rooms for this event.  We ask that you please make your room reservations NOW, the cut-off date for reservations is July 21, 2017.

    The John V. Mesh Memorial Scholarship Fund will be hosting its 2nd Annual Fundraiser, Sporting Clay Shoot on Friday, September 29, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Powder Creek Shooting Park, located at 8601 Monticello Road, Lenexa, KS 66227. We are seeking support for this annual event in the way of participants, sponors and donations (both monetary and products), that can be auctioned or raffled.

    Funeral Notice St. Louis Fire Captain John Kemper It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the line of duty death of St. Louis Fire Captain John Kemper.  Captain Kemper was injured while battling a structural fire on July 5th, 2017 and died July 12, 2017.
    Set a secure admin password

    The first thing to do when you initially login as the administrator is set a secure password for the account. Click the User Settings button from the home page, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see a password field. Delete the current password and enter in your own private password.

    It is with deep sorrow that we inform you of the line of duty death of Captain Art Ricks of the St. Louis City Fire Department, Local 73.  Captain Ricks lost his battle with cancer in the early morning hours of March 30, 2017.  Captain Ricks served the city fire department for almost 27 years with his most recent assignment at Rescue Squad 2 A shift.
