Today, the IAFF will be announcing a lawsuit against the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The lawsuit is being filed in Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts.
As fire fighters, we understand that danger is inherent to the job. However, we must not accept that our bunker gear has been treated with PFAS, a known carcinogen.

In response to this, the IAFF has recently retained three litigation firms who are working together to address injuries and other issues related to PFAS in our bunker gear.
The International is asking all current and retired IAFF members who have been diagnosed with cancer to reach out to these firms at PFAS Law Firms or call 1.800.384.8500, to speak with the PFAS legal team about a potential legal claim.

It bears repeating, our bunker gear is treated with PFAS, which are “forever chemicals” and known carcinogens that are linked to cancer. PFAS are leaching into our bodies directly from our gear.
